The gospel of the fourth Sunday in Lent was about the parable of the Prodigal Son but Fr. Mario Pacifici chose to tell a different story to the students of Andiamo Educaton Institutions (AEI) on Sunday, 10 March.

In his homily, he asked Anna Kumchera to speak to the students about her 93 years experience with life. Her’s was a short message.

“Trust in God.”

Gogo Anna Kumchera disclosed to the attentive students that through out her life, she has never smoked neither has she drunk any alcohol. She also revealed that she never cheated on her husband.

Gogo Kumchera celebrated her 93rd birthday silently on 5 March but Fr. Mario has since promised her dinner this Wednesday, 13 March. He also gave her a special rosary that does not have the usual five decades.

Gogo Kumchera is among the elderly that are provided a dignified life by Andiamo Cooperative under the pillar of Social Development. Under the “Agogo Project”, the elderly are given good shelter at what is called “Andrea Village” (a name given after the late brother of Fr. Mario, Andrea), food and their basic needs.
