“The steps to fit the purifier were many and not easy at all. We had to transport it [the purifier] from Andiamo to Kankao, and then we had to map the plumbing scheme of the orphanage to understand the best way to fit the purifier. Fortunately I met at the Volunteer House, Claudio Canossi, himself an expert plumber and experienced volunteer in Malawi who gave me a big help,” narrates Manuel.

He says that together with Paolo Lanzetti, a Design Engineer and two Andiamo plumbers Lyson and Jeffrey they made a beautiful team able to finalize the work.

“I’m sure that the project of Pang’ono Pang’ono will be continued and improved for the benefit of the Orphanage and Kankao Sisters.”

Paolo, the Designer Engineer who accompanied him produced in fact a new scheme based on the actual plumbing situation that will be proposed to Pang’ono Pang’ono for the optimization of the project.

“We should look forward to breaking up the scheme in more fractions so that the system should work better and serve the entire structure of the orphanage,” says Paolo.

The Kankao project has been an example of real cooperation between Pang’ono Pang’ono who’s president is Marco Baggiani, Andiamo Youth Cooperative and volunteers which has brought fruits and better conditions to Kankao Orphanage, 10 km distant from Andiamo.
