As the year 2008 is saying bye, most of the projects under Andiamo Trust are saying bye to the year 2008 as well in the sense that they are near completion. Vivid examples include a computer classroom (near Andiamo Education Institution office), Technical school workshops, and Chikondi Nursery School at Toleza Village. On Wednesday morning of 10th December 2008, there was a meeting at Chikondi nursery school that involved Mr. Augustino Trussard (project’s owner), some members of Andiamo Trust’s executive, and parents of bona fide kids to start nursery school at Chikondi nursery school. The meeting was chaired by the Cooperative’s Director, Mr. Andrew Galeta who was accompanied by Public Relations Coordinator; Mr. Rosario Nkhoma, Tiyende Women in Development and Technical school Principals, Mrs. L. Usseni and Mr. Raymond Caghoma. The Cooperative in conjunction with the beneficiaries thought it wisely to have a meeting in honour of Mr Augustino who is soon leaving for Italy. The point was to affirm to him that even when he goes home for holidays everything will be under their supervision. In the remarks made by one of the parents, she commended the good spirit that Andiamo Trust has for the people in villages around Balaka. She also thanked Andiamo for choosing Toleza village among all other villages in Balaka district to construct such a modern and beautiful school for their kids. Mrs. Useni added by saying that parents have the responsibility of taking care of the school in any way since the school is in their hands. The Executive Director concluded by saying that when the school will be opened in near future, parents should send their kids for lessons so that they should become good and reliable citizens for they are leaders of today and tomorrow. He also urged them to take care of the surrounding during the period when Andiamo’s workers will be on holiday. Chikondi nursery school is expected to be opened next year when other things such as louvers, doors, and lavatories reach completion. Web
