Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) supports Andiamo Technological Pole to implement courses of information technology. A Japanese expert is teaching Microsoft Visual Basic and Networking at the school.

JICA's assistance to Malawi is implemented in line with the Malawi Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper that was produced in April 2002. It focuses on the following five priority areas and development issues: (1) assistance for basic living conditions (increasing food production and raising agricultural productivity and improving the living environment by providing the poor with access to health and medical care and safe water), (2) economic infrastructure, (3) nurturing small, medium-sized, and micro enterprises, (4) training development-administration engineers and specialists and improving basic education, and (5) environmental protection for sustainable development.
