Another good news from Balaka. This morning we had realised our first casting operation; a three element posterior bridge and one single crown have been cast. All the system, machinery and materials deployed, have resisted doing the right job. The caster is good and the metal is healthy without porosity. Even the aesthetic covering, made with a composite resin, looks nice and natural. The job was mainly arranged by Tonino -a member of SmileMission- with the help of the students. Is a great leap for the Comfort Dental Clinic & Training Centre and in general for all the dental fields in Malawi. We can improve the service to population and even use the new capability for our didactic purposes. Two are the dental laboratory in Malawi with facilities and knowledge to realize fixed prosthesis; one is the Comfort Dental Laboratory in Balaka. Regards the skill of Lorenzo and the general course of the clinic, there are no problems. The dentist from Salerno, Camillo, another member of SmileMission it is favourably impressed by the abilities of our “boy” and for job organization in the clinic.
