Pupils Graduate at Chimwemwe Nursery School

Eighty five pupils who were attending nursery school at Chimwemwe Nursery School in Mbera received certificates of completion, qualifying all of them to enter primary school next January. The certificates were conferred by the Human Resources Coordinator, Mr. Bazilio Murowa, at a colorful ceremony that was graced by excited parents and guardians. This is all thanks to Pang’onopan’ono who provided the infrastructure for education of underprivileged pre-primary school under five children.

The ceremony begun with an opening prayer led by the school’s chairperson, Mr. D. Murowere, who then left the floor to the Head Teacher, Ms. Selina, to give opening remarks. After the introductory speech, the pupils presented to parents their overall achievements. They narrated stories, recited poems, gave self-introductions, and described their body parts all in clear English language.

In the speech given by the school’s chairperson, Mr. D. Murowere, he vehemently thanked Pang’onopang’ono through Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust for the initiative. “Indeed children are being given good education at an early age. This is what we people here in villages need,” said Murowere amid ululations from the audience. He promised to take the school to a certain height by asking for cooperation from both Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust and fellow staff members.

On his turn, Andiamo Trust’s Human Resources Coordinator, Mr. Murowa, praised teachers for their commendable job. He acknowledged the need for transport and other problems raised by the community. However, he asked the parties concerned to be patient and continue to work hard since even Rome was not built in a day. He insisted the people concerned i.e. Pang’onopang’ono need to see huge progress so as to give their hand.

Ms Alice Wasili, mother of a pupil, Ajidu Wasili, could not hide her contentment. She expressed gratitude for the help Andiamo Trust has done for her son. She explained, “The school is free. We have not paid any money. The owners of the school are really helping us. Am glad,” said she.

On top of the Certificates, pupils also received writing materials such as pencils and exercise books.

Meanwhile, other Andiamo Trust’s nursery schools i.e. St. Monica Sukulu ya Mkaka graduated 125 pupils and Yohane Paulo Nursery School graduated 50 pupils had also graduation ceremonies.
