Ululations could not find its way to escape from people’s mouths as Gloria was making her matrimonial vows to her beloved one, non other than Chimwemwe. It was such a situation on a bright morning of Saturday 11th October 2008. In the past three months the achievement that people of Balaka can announce in a loud voice are wedding ceremonies which have been officially officiated. This is only a recognized way of marrying in a Christian doctrine and a way of enhancing the love that two have for each other. As people are cerebrating over this achievement, Gloria one of the Technological Pole Staff members would not allow her marriage to be spotted out as bad example over this period. People would start cerebrating the day before to show appreciation of the company that Gloria and her husband Chimwemwe had to start. People would not sleep as local dances could not even be paused over thet night. When the morning came every body made his way to St. Louis Montfort Catholic Parish to witness the vows that the two had to make in their presence. The Eucharistic mass started at around 10:00am led by Fr. Khauya who was ordained in the past three months from the same parish. In the vows they promised to love and to stay together for the rest of their lives in times of joy or sorrow. In Fr. Khauya’s homily, said that marriage is a journey that two loving hearts had to travel until death should separate the two. “When one is on a journey, has to encounter a lot of thing, good as well as bad. The same in marriage, there are both good moments as well as though moments. They need to centre their life on love to surpass all these situations. After the whole cloud evaporated from the church, it condensed at Grazia’s take away and restraunt where they had to wine and dine and indeed it was. Some people would feel like their stomachs were bursting hence they had enough of it. The whole story remained now in the hands of the DJ and Master of Ceremony to do their work at St. Charles Lwanga Secondary school Hall. There, people showed their happiness and appreciated good example that the two have shown by presenting different kind of gifts to the newly established family. People had to finish the wedding party by dancing and drinking as well. On the following day, 12th October people had to cerebrate another wedding of Mr. Wireless “the commercial Officer” of Andiamo Cooperative.
