Mwalimba

Mwalimba mtima zoona
Indee!
This was the song that was being sung upon arrival at the parish
for the first time with Fr. Kizito Khauya as a priest.
It
was a colorful priestly ordination of Deacons Kizito Khauya of Balaka
and Bazilio Msuli of Mpiri which took place on 16th August, 2008
at Utale 1 Parish. It was also taken as a blessing in disguise hence
the ordination took place on the day when people were celebrating
100 years existence of Utale 1 parish. There is along story behind
this parish. Meanwhile, it is the first parish to be established
in Mangochi Diocese hence the mother of all. The celebration was
masterminded by his Lordship, Bishop Alessandro Pagani of Mangochi
in conjunction with Bishop Thomas Msusa of Zomba.
Having
finished in Utale, the Balaka crew which was accompanied by with
their newly ordained Khauya, went to their parish were they celebrated
benediction soon after their arrival. The following day, it was
when the climax was reached as Fr. Khauya was getting to know what
to celebrate Eucharist mass is all about when he had his first experience.
The mass started at 9:00am and the whole function was being spaced
with ululations. People expressed their joy and happiness by showering
gifts at the end of the mass.
It
was now in the afternoon when people could wish if they had spare
legs. It was Alleluya Band which made the people to paint like dogs
with their rhythms. The participation was featured by the Leggie
Ambassador, Charles Sinetre from the same squared.
The
second Eucharist mass of Fr. Khauya is scheduled to take place on
Saturday, 23rd August, 2008. The function will take place at Sosola
village where he comes from.
