A.E.I Coordinator Back form Italy
The A.E.I. Coordinator,
Mr. Alessandro Marchetti arrived back home from Italy where he went
for several reasons some of which were to meet friends, volunteers,
donors and associations that play bigger roles in the Cooperative’s
undertakings. He had also an opportunity to give a progress report
of projects that are carried out at Andiamo.
In
Academic circles, the A.E.I. coordinator commented that there is
a need to work hard on both sides i.e. teachers and students so
as to yield good results always. On the other hand, he commended
the improvement shown in all academic Institutions. At the Technical
school he pointed out that there is now stable staff which has also
helped students to perform better. In this regard, there are examples
such as those of excellent performance by all students who sat for
Electrical Installation National Trade Test. At the Technological
Pole, the same story of excellence was realized when all students
passed, two of them obtaining distinctions.
In
terms of association, TEVET is currently working with Andiamo Education
Institution in order to improve and standardize learning environment.
In a lighter note, TEVET appreciates and acknowledges commendable
work realized by Andiamo Education Institutions.
There
are also students doing studies abroad and within the country. It
is expected that by next year they will all be working and sharing
their knowledge with the rest of the employees in various sections.
As
we are proud of all these, we however encounter some problems. In
this regard, we can talk of insufficient infrastructure since most
of it is under construction such as dormitories and workshops which
also require sufficient funding, hence we have the funds but we
are still working to finish workshops and dormitories. On top of
this, many students have the desire to study but can not due to
lack of school fees.
We
would wish to ask certain organizations that may finance studies
for underprivileged students just like the gesture showed by the
World Vision International and UNICEF to the support for students
doing music school programs.
