Andiamo looks forward with a strategic Plan

Thanks to the support of CMB – VOS – Lama from Italy, the project for the formation of Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust is continuing. On saturday 22nd May 2010 Mr. Dicks Nfune (Professor at Mpemba Staff Development Institute) met the founding Trustee Fr. Mario Pacifici and the Director of Andiamo Mr. Andrew Galeta to understand the historical background and the vision of the Cooperative in order top plan the Functional Review Course (Workshop) that will involve many of the Administration and Sections Workers. It was the occasion for our founding trustee fr. Mario to confirm the vision of the social cooperative underlining the importance to continue to involve in our activities and structure the vulnerable people of Balaka empowering them for a better future.

Fr. Mario welcomed therefore the intentions of the Professor to work with us according with the plan done with CMB VOS LAMA and Andiamo Education Institutions Office as the progress and growth of the administrators and workers is in line with the plans of the Cooperative

The Director of Andiamo Youth Cooperative Mr. Andrew Galeta also welcomed Mr. Nfune explaining him the actual situation of Andiamo and the future prospectives expressing the need of formation in different areas of the Cooperative.

On his part Mr. Nfune appreciated the long and huge vision of Fr. Mario and the work done in 33 years for the community of Balaka. “It i stime” he said “that Government and other malawian Communities take exaple from Andiamo and bring it in other parts of the country as a role model fro the development of the Country”.

The functional review course is necessary and will contribute to make our structure more effective enter this year as we need to improve in responsibilities and take coscience of our role in the Cooperative and for the Community. I twill help in identifying gaps and plan new trainings and courses for internal workers to improve their skills. Some of the gaps that eventually will be found will be filled in the very same course.

Part of the course will be focused on the Stategic Plan realization as we have it in mind and it is clearly visible in the words of Fr. Mario and Andrew Galeta. But still we need to make it in words as a document to be presented to the stake holders, Government and donors. This document that the Administration wish to realize enter december 2010 will be the Guideline for all the activities of the Cooperative for the next 5 years and will focus on the 4 areas of education, Health, Social Development, Culture and Sport.

The new local association Tiyende Pamodzi composed by the Director and other 8 local person will be able to propose projects in line with it and will work together with local cooperators and International cooperators through Andiamo Malawi Association (Italy) and Orizzonte malawi (Italy), to ensure the realization of the plan.
