Eliza James gave a premature birth to fraternal twins; a boy and a girl on 30th August at Balaka District Hospital. Eliza who hails from Traditional Authority Makwangwala gave birth only after 28 weeks of pregnancy. They were earlier in the past week referred to Comfort Community Hospital (CCH) for the neonatal facility, which has always been the refuge for all Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) cases in the district.

The twins who currently have not been named have picked weight since their both initial birth mass of 1.4 kgs.

“We have done everything necessary to keep them healthy, thank heavens they are responding wel to treatment” says the bedside nurse at KMC
